Q. Will I definitely get into EFOC13 since I’m one of the earliest to sign up for this camp?
All applications that reach EFOC13 committee via online application by 10th July 2013 will have a fair chance of being selected into our camp. When the number of applicants far exceeds our vacancies, balloting will be conducted.

Q. How do we know if we have been accepted?
You will be contacted by the seniors of your OG once you have been accepted.

Q. When will we know if we have been accepted?
Tentatively, all participants who have been accepted will be contacted after 10th July 2013, latest by the 22nd July 2013.

Q. Is it necessary for me and how to send in the indemnity form together with my application since I’m applying online?
There will be a Day 0 for the GLs to collect the indemnity forms, camp fee and to brief you on the details of the camp. You will need to hand in the indemnity form on that day.

Q. Why I did not receive the indemnity form along with the mailer?

The indemnity form will be sent to you via email upon the GLs called and you have confirmed your attendance for the camp.

Q. If I’ve something to attend to on one of the camp dates, will I be able to leave and join the group once I’m done?
Generally, it is difficult for you to leave and rejoin the camp as we are constantly on the move. As such, participants are strongly encouraged to reschedule their appointments. That said, we are not heartless! If the matter is official and deemed important by the EFOC13 committee, you will be excused. Just remember to inform your GL beforehand. We don't want you to miss out on the fun you have signed up for!

Q. My Matriculation falls on the EFOC week. Will my matriculation be affected when I attend the camp?
No worries! We have made the necessary arrangements for you to matriculate on time during the camp. Just bring along the matriculation mail containing your matriculation number to the camp and you will be fine.

How to sign up?

Only one application needed

Applications must reach the EFOC13 committee by 10th July 2013. As for the indemnity form, do hand it (must be signed) in to your respective Group Leaders when you meet them during Day 0.
 
More Details
DATE: EFOC13 takes place from the 29th July to 1st August 2013. All are encouraged to sign up for this camp.

SELECTION PROCESS: To ensure the quality of the camp experience, spaces are limited. Once you submit your application, you will be contacted within 5 working days after 10th July 2013. When the application window is over, freshmen will be chosen by balloting (should number of applicants exceed vacancies). Successful applicants will be contacted personally via their contact numbers or email.

PAYMENT: Only successful applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of S$50 (inclusive of GST). You will need to Bank Transfer the S$50 to your respective Group Leaders (GLs).

PACKING LIST: The packing list for Union Orientation Camp 2013 may be found in another note. The GLs will also send you via email along with the indemnity form.

APPLICATION & INDEMNITY FORM: Indemnity form will be sent to you via email.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The main objectives of Economics Freshmen Orientation Camp 2013/14 are to orientate freshmen in their new environment, and to cultivate a sense of belonging. However, as the student population becomes more cosmopolitan, exposure to diversities in cultures becomes inevitable.

As a participant, you are encouraged to take part in all the activities that the camp organizer has planned for you. However, you are NOT bounded to participate in any activity that you are not comfortable with, e.g. if it is against your culture or religion. Please inform your GLs of your reasons if you do not wish to participate and you will be excused.

FEEDBACK: Camp participants are encouraged to give your feedback on how camps are conducted. All comments and suggestions received will be looked into. EFOC2013 details

Here are some tidbits about EFOC 2013 for you guys to read to get to know us(:


Overall aim of the event:

We aim to foster a sense of belonging among the Economics students where through this camp they will be able to build new friendships that will last throughout their university years and beyond. This event would also allow students to be more prepared for university life. Above all, we hope that participants have fun and welcome them into the Economics family here at NTU.

Participant selection process:

All students from all majors; but priority will be given to students in Division of Economics, Mathematics and Economics and Double Major/Degree in Economics. 
 


Event Schedule:

As we want an element of surprise and excitement, we have to keep the daily schedule confidential. There will be sufficient rest time for the participants. The events will start from 0800 hours on 29th July and end on 1st August 2130 hours.

Brief Description of Event Types:

We will be having both outdoors and indoors activities, where we will be having games around NTU to allow participants to know the school campus better and also activities outside school.  
There will be an array of fun-filled activities where students can make friends as well as challenge yourself.
